These are the images i used, i make it as collage using

From the image, i using polygon lasso tool to clip the objects i wanted. and put it in the new file.
from the signboard image, i took the sign board.
from the star wars image, i clip the jet
from the both earth image, i take it as it is and place it top and bottom, to show like in between universe.

 

I use clone stamp tool and paint area and hide the text area, so i can type my own text over there to look like in sign board.

 

Almost finish painting over the letters and ready to put the my own texts.

I type the FOM and make it free transform to adjust the scale and size. some sort of transformation can not be done with out Rasterizing. rasterizing can be done by right click on the layer and select rasterize. this allow to apply all the transformation options in the free transform.

Place the star wars jet and earth picture at top left and background. and placed the sign board at bottom corner.

 I was needed few more text to add in to sign board. so i select using polygon lasso tool to select a top part of the signboard  and duplicated to bottom of it and add small adjustment to it.

 I add the text 2012 on that and using Image>adjustment > cuves, i try until i get the brighter look on the signboard.

  I place the star image. scale it down and placed like popping out start from board. and i made it to many copies with different sizes.

 few of them i went made it horizontal twist to make it not look same.

 using the Image> adjustment > Hue/saturation , I could easily change the color of it. (need to click the colorize check box at bottom) i make it different colors.

 i wanted to add a light beams from space craft bottom arm. so i selected like a rectangle to look like light beams spread.  and applied gradient color from light blue to transparent.

 to that light beam, i applied, Effect > blur > motion blur with the angular side.

 

i use the eraser tool to erase the hard edges/ un blend with background.places.

 i copied the mmu logo and apply radial blur in the effects>blur> radial blur, it has an option of zoom, it makes picture look like emitting rays.

after adding the radial blur, i add a duplicate of the mmu logo over the shining point.

and here is my final image looks like. 

Tutorial 3- Photo Re-touching.

These are the Pictures i use for this assignment. (and MMU logo)

I re-arrange the background image, because it was like very long distance image. so using stamp tool (nice tool) i move the second part of the road and put grass to hide the small patches.

using rectangle too, i draw like road sign board to put the MMU name and logo. scaled right side using selection tool to look prespective.

(In the right side )I add MMU Mascot to show the road. :p .
(In the Left side) I add the MMU Open Day board and made it look like perspective one side small.

Using variety of Butterfly images i select using polygon lasso, lasso tool and magic wand i separate the butterflies and put in background image.

Here are the places i positioned in the final image.
using simple tools as lasso and cut, paste and layer arrangement, i made a butterfly wings up by just copy and past the one wing and scale it bigger and place it upper layer. :D

usual buddy Mr.Mascot. I rock it with simple tools with complex steps. look at the following image.

Here is a the way i made the mascot to look fly. i use (draw tool to point the retouches i made)

similar steps with random steps i made the caterpillar to stand and wear a bag.

Adding text in the road to look shadow kind of effect. using list of effects and opacity slider.

made transform and choose perspective by right click on the text. and minimize the size at top side.

And tadah....Here is the final image.

(I could have make something nice but its too heavy to computer.)

Tutorial-2 Layers

 Assignment Layer Managment

These are the source images i found to do my beloved layer assignment.

 

Using Magnetic Lasso tool, i selected the elephant from original .

After complete selection of elephant i copied it by Edit > Copy

I paste the elephant to new layer in MMU picture.
I erase the wood infront of the elephant, using eraser. it was not looking good or match mmu clean enviorenment.

So I move background image to get very close match to the elephant.

By selecting Elephant layer. I apply Auto Color so it will match to color of backgound. (not really)

I found typical MMU Bee from internet and thought of giving a place to show its brave.
I think different. select out side of the bee and delete. but i found Inverse tool in Select Menu. it inverse the selection. :D thats was awesome.
after that i copy the Bee and paste in to new layer in MMU picture.

by selecting Bee layer. I use free transform and scale a bit and place it a good place to scare elephant.
yeh... i wanted to look at elephant so i found turn it to right by right click on the bee and select Flip Horizontal. dadah.

and i use horizontal and vertical text tool to put MMU Name in Building(vertical) and inbetween ele and bee (horizontal).

 

Here we go, i saved it to jpg.
looks great.
